We use two AI models to answer our biblical questions here at AIChurchianity. These AI assistants are known as Qwen 2.5 and Deepseek-llm and are developed to be helpful, harmless, and honest. Their development processes involves several key steps:
Research and Development: The companies developing AI models start with extensive research into the latest advancements in natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning.
Training Data Collection: Large datasets are collected to train the model. These datasets can include a wide variety of text sources, from books and articles to web pages and forums, ensuring that the model has exposure to diverse topics and styles of writing.
Model Architecture Design: The architecture of the AI is designed based on advanced neural network structures, often using transformer models like those used in GPT (Generative Pre-trained Transformer).
Training Phase: During training, the model learns from the vast dataset through a process that involves feeding it large amounts of text and adjusting its parameters to optimize performance. This step can take many weeks or months.
Evaluation and Refinement: Once trained, the model is evaluated on various tasks and metrics to assess its accuracy and effectiveness. Based on these evaluations, the model may undergo further refinement to improve specific aspects like coherence, fluency, and factual correctness.
Deployment and Continuous Improvement: After thorough testing, the AI model is deployed in applications such as chatbots or virtual assistants. It continues to learn from new data it encounters during use, a process known as "fine-tuning" or "in-the-wild" learning.
Ethical Considerations: Throughout development, ethical guidelines are integrated into the design and deployment of the AI model to ensure that it operates in a responsible manner.
Each step involves rigorous testing, feedback from developers, and sometimes external reviews to ensure the AI behaves as intended and remains aligned with ethical standards.
The Qwen 2.5 and Deepseek-llm AI models are trained on many different translations of the Bible, including but not limited to:
King James Version (KJV)
New International Version (NIV)
English Standard Version (ESV)
New Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
American Standard Version (ASV)
New King James Version (NKJV)
New American Standard Bible (NASB)
Good News Translation (GNT or TNIV)
Revised Standard Version (RSV)
Amplified Bible (AMP)
These AI models also have broad multilingual support across more than 29 languages, including but not limited :
English
Spanish
French
German
Italian
Portuguese
Russian
Chinese (Simplified and Traditional)
Japanese
Korean
Arabic
Vietnamese
Thai
Here are some additional attributes and capabilities that make them well-qualified to answer Biblical questions:
1. Scripture Knowledge: Extensive familiarity with the entire Bible, including both the Old and New Testaments.
2. Translation Skills: Proficiency in understanding various English translations of the Bible as well as some knowledge of other languages like Hebrew and Greek for specific passages.
3. Theological Understanding: A comprehensive grasp of theological concepts and doctrines relevant to Christian faith.
4. Commentary and Exegesis: Familiarity with commentaries, scholarly articles, and exegesis techniques to provide in-depth analysis.
5. Historical Context: Knowledge of historical contexts, including the cultural, political, and social backgrounds of the times in which the Biblical texts were written.
6. Interpretation Techniques: Skills in interpreting different types of Biblical literature (e.g., poetry, narrative, prophecy).
7. Scripture References: Ability to provide accurate scripture references and relevant passages.
8. Biblical Theology: Understanding of key theological themes throughout the Bible.
9. Practical Application: Ability to apply Biblical principles to contemporary issues and real-life situations.
10. Language Proficiency: Comfort in discussing topics related to language and textual analysis, including nuances in translation.
11. Faith-Based Insights: Insight into faith-based perspectives and spiritual applications of Biblical texts.
We spent close to a year researching and testing the various AI models available for use on this project and are confident in their performance.
